Common questions

Where do I find my support code?

Open HView, go to Settings › Account. The six-character support code is shown there, and also at the bottom of the plain-mode card. Give it to us when you write and we can find your television.

My trial ended. What now?

HView shows a plain home screen (black background, a clock and an app row) and a card with a “Choose a plan” button. Nothing is locked or erased, and when you subscribe the full home screen comes back as you left it.

I subscribed but HView still shows the trial or “expired”

HView checks the subscription when it connects, so make sure the TV is online and reopen HView. If Google Play says the payment is awaiting approval, it activates once approved. If a purchase was saved while the TV was offline, it activates when the TV connects. If it still looks wrong after that, write to us with your support code.

It says my subscription is tied to another television

A subscription belongs to one television. You can subscribe for this television with a different Google account. If you reset the television, or want to move the subscription here, write to us with your support code.

My payment could not be renewed

HView shows a note for a few days while you update the payment method in Google Play. If you do it in time, nothing changes.

How do I cancel?

In Google Play › Account › Payments & subscriptions, on the TV, your phone or the web. What you have paid for lasts until the end of the period. See the cancellation and refund policy for details.

The Home button doesn’t open HView

On Google TV, turn on Settings › Modules › Home button and allow “Home button” for HView on the accessibility screen. If your TV has no such screen, HView shows a command to run from a computer. On other Android TVs, press Home and choose HView when the TV asks. Some TVs don’t allow changing the home screen; there you can still open HView from your app list.

The weather isn’t showing

Switch the weather module on in Settings › Modules and choose a city under Settings › City. HView never uses your location. If the search says “City not found”, try the English spelling, and check that the TV is online.

The content rows are empty

The rows show what your other apps publish as “Watch next” and recommendations, so they are empty until an app publishes something. They need Android 8 or newer and your permission; if the setting says “Not allowed”, grant it when asked.

HView said it switched things off after a failed start

That is safe mode. After two failed starts in a row, HView restarts with the optional modules off and the Minimal theme, and says which ones. Switch them back on in Settings.

Still stuck?

Write to us with your support code and a few words about what you see.
